Fly The Flag

Armed with a extra bright data projector, a laptop and a portable generator the North Lake Macquarie Rover Crew 'flew the flag' in Newcastle CBD. As you can see in the photos below we flew the flag (projected) on lots of different buildings and locations around town including:

We found that a white World Scout emblem on a black background was the best for projecting on most of the buildings. However a few buildings and locations allowed us to use a white emblem on purple background. We also used the opportunity to display a 'Join Scouts' message and the Australian Scout logo as well. All these different images and messages were rotated on a timed basis. Even though we used the high exposure setting on our camera the photos don't do our projections justice. They looked even better in real life.

The great thing was the response of the public. Lots of cars honked their horns and pedestrians pointed out our giant logos as they went past.
